African American Rear Admiral in charge of counter-piracy efforts

Nice piece on Rear Admiral Michelle Howard, an African-American who was put in charge of counter-piracy efforts for the US Navy three days before the US cargo ship Maersk Alabama was captured. After the dramatic rescue, Rear Admiral Howard says the mission for the US is still to deter and disrupt piracy off Somalia. Task force commander was busy first week, Navy Times.
