Daily Pundit has an interesting take - Somali pirate Muse says it's a fulfillment of his dream to come to America (even in handcuffs). Pundit says we might see more pirate attacks on US ships just as an excuse to be shipped to America.
Unintended consequence is more likely to be pirates targeting the US for revenge. But let's see if there's a wave of boat people claiming to be pirates swarming US ships. It would be like that movie "The Mouse that Roared" - a small nation seeking conflict with the US to wrangle benefits from the Americans.
We should be so lucky if events worked out that way ...
